This evening we held the first Toastmasters meeting since last summer after expressed interest in bringing it back. Hopefully with a much bigger active, alumni, and zeta sister support body, Toastmasters will be here to stay to benefit all future generations of Zetas and Zeta Sisters.

What is Toastmasters?
“From a humble beginning in 1924 at the YMCA in Santa Ana, California, Toastmasters International has grown to become a world leader in helping people become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience. The nonprofit organization now has nearly
Most Toastmasters meetings are comprised of approximately 20 people who meet weekly for an hour or two. Participants practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian.
There is no instructor; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved.”

Essentially, the goal of holding Toastmasters meetings is to make everyone who attends better public speakers. Whether or not you have stage fright or just need some fine tuning, Toastmasters is a place where everyone is supportive in giving constructive criticism and helpful suggestions. Best of all, it’s with people you know rather than complete strangers.

Sample of the Agenda
We will be holding Toastmastes every other Wednesday from today meaning the next meeting will be on October 31st at VKC at 8:00PM. If you have any further questions, please comment on this post!

I was wondering if USC Staff are able to attend.
Thank you,
Elizabeth, we are not an official Toastmaster’s club and have no objection to your attendance. That being said, we often change the date or meeting time to accommodate our fraternity’s schedule.
I would be happy to keep you notified of the next meeting ahead of time.
It may happen that Toastmaster’s eventually becomes a separate entity from Zeta Phi Rho, run by students, alum, and staff of USC. For now, it is starting with our fraternity members.
Additionally, I am not aware if there is an already existing Toastmaster’s at USC. That might be something you could look into that’s more suited to your needs.
